(PLVN) - On October 15th, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho chaired a meeting of the Task Force to oversee the fight against tax evasion in import and export taxes and the collection of infrastructure usage fees in the port and border gate area; he also heard a report on the revenue collection results for the first nine months and discussed the implementation of tasks for the last three months of 2024.
According to the leaders of the Hai Phong Customs Department, as of September 30, 2024, the Hai Phong Customs Department's state budget revenue reached over 55,126 billion VND, equivalent to 82.9% of the target assigned by the Prime Minister , an increase of 7,341 billion VND, or 15.4%, compared to the same period in 2023. Of this, the Hai Phong area collected over 48,004 billion VND, equivalent to 81.64% of the assigned target, and 80.95% of the target set by the city, an increase of 6,049 billion VND, or 14.4%, compared to the same period. Regarding the fight against export and import tax evasion, the cumulative revenue for the first nine months reached 346 billion VND.
According to the Inland Waterway Port Authority's report, in the first nine months of 2024, the revenue from port infrastructure fees reached over 1,046 billion VND, equivalent to 83.7% of the 2024 revenue forecast, an increase of 147.5 billion VND, or 16.4%, compared to the same period last year.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho acknowledged that the Hai Phong Customs Department and the Inland Waterway Port Authority had closely coordinated with relevant departments and agencies in the process of implementing the task of collecting import and export taxes, achieving higher results compared to the same period in 2023.
Regarding the collection of port infrastructure usage fees, aiming to achieve and surpass the target of 1,300 billion VND, he suggested that the units need to make determined efforts to achieve high revenue levels, especially with regard to import and export taxes, in order to strive for a bonus for exceeding the revenue target.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City also requested the Hai Phong Customs Department, the Inland Waterway Port Authority, and related units to actively coordinate more closely, cross-check and provide timely information to avoid losses and facilitate businesses in collecting port fees; to raise the sense of responsibility of officials and civil servants to serve businesses well, openly, transparently, create equality, and avoid corruption.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City also agreed with the proposal of the Hai Phong Customs Department and the Inland Waterway Port Authority to upgrade equipment and software, with the goal of providing the best service to businesses, and assigned the Department of Information and Communications to coordinate the implementation.
