(HQ Online) - On March 17, the Customs Sub-Department of Region V (Customs Department) held a conference to announce decisions on the organizational structure and personnel of the Sub-Department.

Attending the conference were the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, Vuong Quoc Tuan; the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, Ngo Tan Phuong; and the Deputy Director of the Customs Department ( Ministry of Finance ), Tran Duc Hung.

At the conference, representatives from the Personnel and Organization Department (Customs Department) announced Decision 966/QD-BTC dated March 5, 2025, of the Minister of Finance regarding the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of regional customs branches under the Customs Department.

Following the reorganization, the Customs Department has 20 subordinate branches nationwide. Among them, the Regional Customs Branch V, headquartered in Bac Ninh, performs the function of state management of customs in the provinces of Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen , Bac Kan, and Tuyen Quang.

The Customs Sub-Department of Region V has 6 departments/teams under its umbrella, including: the Office, the Personnel and Organization Department, the Risk Management and Information Technology Department, the Customs Operations Department, the Customs Control Team, and the Post-Clearance Review and Inspection Team.

The 7 border/non-border customs units include: Bac Ninh Customs, Tien Son Customs, Yen Phong Customs, Bac Giang Customs, Thai Nguyen Customs, Bac Kan Customs, and Tuyen Quang Customs.

At the conference, Deputy Director of the Customs Department Tran Duc Hung presented the decisions on the transfer and appointment of the Deputy Heads of the Customs Sub-Department Region V, including: Mr. Le Viet Hung (former Deputy Director of the Bac Ninh Customs Department), Mr. Tran Viet Hung (former Deputy Director of the Legal Department, General Department of Customs), Mr. Vu Tuan Binh (former Deputy Director of the Lang Son Customs Department), and Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huong (former Deputy Director of the Lao Cai Customs Department).

Previously, on March 7, 2025, at the conference announcing the decision on the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Customs Department and its internal organizations; and announcing decisions on personnel matters of the Customs Department, Mr. Pham Duc Thang, Director of the Personnel and Organization Department (Ministry of Finance), presented decisions and flowers to congratulate the heads of departments, sub-departments, and equivalent positions of the Customs Department. Among them, Mr. Pham Chi Thanh, Director of the Bac Ninh Customs Department, was transferred and appointed to the position of Head of the Customs Sub-department of Region V.

On this occasion, the organizing committee also announced and presented appointment decisions to the leaders of departments, teams, and equivalent units of the Customs Sub-Department of Region V.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Director of the Customs Department Tran Duc Hung congratulated the Customs Sub-Department of Region V on successfully consolidating and stabilizing its organizational structure, enabling it to operate under the new model alongside the entire Customs sector.

In the early days of operating under the new model (from March 15, 2025), the Customs Sub-department of Region V processed nearly 7,000 declarations, with a total import and export turnover of over 600 million USD.

Regarding future tasks, Deputy Director Tran Duc Hung requested the Customs Sub-Department of Region V to continue maintaining and promoting the spirit of solidarity to effectively carry out assigned tasks. In particular, he emphasized ensuring the facilitation of import and export activities for the business community; continuing to promote reforms and simplify administrative procedures; focusing on effectively implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation; effectively performing revenue collection tasks; and strengthening and improving the effectiveness of anti-smuggling efforts.
