According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean and Australian navies are conducting a joint naval exercise.
The objective is to strengthen the combat capabilities and coordination of the two countries' militaries through anti-submarine warfare, air defense, maritime interception operations, tactical exercises, and live-fire drills.
The joint exercise began on October 31 and lasted until November 3 off the coast of Ulsan, 299km southeast of Seoul, with the participation of six South Korean naval vessels, maritime surveillance helicopters, and military helicopters. Australia deployed an Anzac-class frigate Toowoomba, one MH-60R Seahawk helicopter, and a maritime patrol aircraft.
