South Korean Navy ship docks at Tien Sa port, pays courtesy visit to Da Nang city

On December 2, the ROKS Hansando training ship of the Republic of Korea Navy docked at Tien Sa port, beginning a four-day courtesy visit to Da Nang city.

On December 2, at Tien Sa wharf, Da Nang city, the City People's Committee held a ceremony to welcome the ROKS Hansando training ship of the Republic of Korea Navy led by Rear Admiral Hong Sang Yong with 375 officers and sailors visiting the city.

The welcoming ceremony took place in a solemn and cozy atmosphere with the participation of representatives of the leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Da Nang, the Command of Naval Region 3, the Command of Coast Guard Region 2, the City Military Command, the City Border Guard, the Border Guard of Da Nang Port, representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs ( Ministry of National Defense ), the Navy and related units.

The Korean side included Defense Attaché Lieutenant Colonel Park Jeong Hwan, officials from the Embassy and Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Da Nang and representatives of the Korean community living and working in the city.

During the visit, the delegation participated in activities such as paying courtesy calls to leaders of the City People's Committee, Military Region 5 and Naval Region 3; participating in sports exchanges; cultural and tourism tours; organizing a reception on the ship; welcoming visitors; and diving to check the ship before leaving port on December 5.

A representative of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Da Nang City said that the visit contributed to consolidating the friendship and mutual trust between Vietnam and Korea, further strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two countries. At the same time, it further deepened the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Korea since it was upgraded in 2022.

The Hansando training ship has a displacement of 4,500 tons, is 142 meters long, 18 meters high, and is equipped with many modern technologies such as a flexible flagship gun, a helicopter landing pad at the stern of the ship, and many other equipment serving training activities at sea./.
