According to a statistical report provided by the Korean National Police Agency to the National Assembly 's Public Management and Security Committee on April 29, cited by a TTXVN correspondent in Seoul, a total of 6,795 children were reported suspected of being abused two or more times in 2025. Specifically, 4,362 children were reported twice, 1,306 three times, and 490 four times. Notably, 114 children were reported ten or more times, reflecting the severity and persistence of these incidents.

Starting in January 2025, the Korean National Police Agency reformed its Abuse Prevention Officer (APO) system, shifting to statistics based on individual child victims rather than the number of reports, in order to better identify repeat cases.

Meanwhile, according to the South Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare, the total number of reported suspected child abuse cases in 2024 was 50,242, a 3.5% increase from the previous year. However, the number of cases confirmed as abuse after investigation decreased by 4.8%, to 24,492.
