On June 28, the South Korean Foreign Ministry said the country will lift its travel advisory for Japan, except for the Fukushima area.
South Korea has imposed a level 1 travel advisory in a four-tier warning system for Japan, as the country takes precautions amid the COVID-19 pandemic and a subsequent drop in the number of tourists visiting the country, Yonhap news agency reported.
However, according to the latest decision, from July 1, South Korea will lift the above warning due to the increasing number of tourists to Japan after disease prevention measures have been relaxed and public order has been ensured in this neighboring country.
However, a level 3 warning (recommendation to leave) will still apply to areas within 30km of the Fukushima nuclear power plant and some other areas under evacuation orders issued by the Japanese Government .
Also in the announcement on June 28, the South Korean Foreign Ministry said the country will lower its travel warning for Iran to level 2 (travel restriction).
Seoul will also lower the travel advisory for Sri Lanka, Mongolia and Senegal by one notch, to level 1, in a regular adjustment of travel restrictions.
Meanwhile, the warning level will be raised one level for Colombia's Norte de Santander province, to level 3, due to the possibility of terrorist attacks and other serious crimes there./.
