Thousands of teachers in Thu Duc City access "digital school"

(NLDO) - On May 4, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City organized a training course on the "digital school" model for all primary and secondary school teachers in the area.

At the request of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, Google has provided more than 4,200 free accounts to teachers to serve teaching and learning according to the "digital school" model.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Vinh Nguyen, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, said that more than 300 teachers attended the training program in person, the rest attended online. After the training session, the teachers will enter the self-study phase, with the support of the Department of Education and Training and the Google for Education team.

Teachers are trained to use educational technology applications (EdTech), digital transformation, and personalize teaching and learning.

According to Mr. Nguyen, previously, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City issued a plan to implement Google "digital schools" at educational institutions in the area for the period 2023 - 2025 to improve the digital capacity of teachers and staff of primary and secondary schools with Google-standard training programs and certification.

In addition, teachers are also provided with a digital space platform, building interactions with students on this platform, safe, secure, controlling content and applications on the device, and supporting self-bringing of devices to school.

"In particular, integrating AI applications to support teaching and learning activities, improving work efficiency. Easily expand and apply the latest Google technologies to support digital transformation, personalize teaching and learning" - Mr. Nguyen said.

Actively deploy and apply IT in management and administration, build a sector-wide database on education and training to serve educational management information. Deploy online school management software, connect schools with parents, use electronic grade books, electronic transcripts...
