On the morning of July 23, Secretary of the Muong Quang Commune Party Committee Sam Thi Thanh said that 6 villages in the commune were flooded.
Accordingly, on the afternoon of July 22, floodwaters swept away the suspension bridge to Quanh village, isolating the entire Quanh village with a population of 511. People had to travel with difficulty by the flood avoidance road, because this road was already very bad, and now with a lot of mud, it was even more difficult to travel.
In the face of the emergency, local authorities and functional forces quickly deployed response measures. People were supported to move their belongings and assets to safety, especially households in vulnerable areas. On deeply flooded roads, functional forces placed warning signs and prohibited movement to ensure people's safety.

“There are still no specific statistics on the damage, but the locality is focusing all resources with the people to respond to the flood, in order to minimize the damage,” said the leader of Muong Quang commune.
In Yen Hoa commune, the only road leading to Tat and Xop Coc villages (old Yen Thang commune) has two sections through Vang Lin village and the Chon stream overflow section, which were heavily flooded, completely isolating more than 200 households with nearly 1,000 people in Tat and Xop Coc villages.
Secretary of the Yen Hoa Commune Party Committee Luong Ba Vin said: "The water in the overflowing stream is high, we have sent forces to block and stand guard at key points, prohibiting people and vehicles from traveling on the road through Tat and Xop Coc villages to ensure safety". Eight households in Yen Hoa Commune have been evacuated from the dangerous landslide area.
In Yen Na commune, there are currently 120 households, about 550 people of Ve village temporarily taking shelter at the primary school.
According to Secretary of the Yen Na Vy Commune Party Committee Thi Bich Thuy, the water level in the reservoir rose, peaking at 2am this morning (July 3). By 8:30am, it began to decrease. Six houses were affected by landslides and had to be urgently evacuated. Along with that, 25ha of rice and crops, 20 fish ponds were damaged.
