On May 30, in Hanoi , the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion presided over and coordinated with the Office of the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, Blood Transfusion Centers and Blood Donation Steering Committees of 48 provinces and cities to organize the opening ceremony of the 13th Red Journey Blood Donation Program - 2025. This year's program lasts from May 30 to July 30 and is held in 48 provinces and cities, with the goal of receiving about 100,000 units of blood.
Mr. Nguyen Ha Thanh, Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Head of the Organizing Committee of Red Journey 2025, said that after 12 years, 59 provinces and cities across the country have participated in the Red Journey, with nearly 1 million units of blood donated. These are very impressive and proud results, vivid proof of the perseverance and strong influence in more than a decade of implementing the mission of "Connecting Vietnamese blood".

“Connecting Vietnamese blood” is not simply a slogan, but a symbol of compassion, a vivid continuation of the nation’s patriotic tradition, where millions of Vietnamese hearts beat together for the community,” Mr. Nguyen Ha Thanh emphasized. The Red Journey has truly become the largest and most effective blood donation campaign, leaving a deep impression on the more than 30-year development of the voluntary blood donation movement in our country.

In order for the Red Journey 2025 to continue to be successful and to promote social effectiveness, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan suggested that localities need to continue to promote communication work, flexibly use modern communication platforms to bring the image of voluntary blood donation closer to each person and each community, arousing empathy and urging the spirit of sharing in every Vietnamese heart.
Along with that, it is necessary to promote the application of digital technology in blood donor management and blood resource coordination to contribute to ensuring fairness, transparency and speed in blood reception and coordination, especially in the context of responding to natural disasters and epidemics.
