With the theme “Song Cau - where the source converges”, this year’s Culture - Tourism Week is organized on a regional scale, with the participation of the provinces in the Cau River basin. The event includes nearly 20 rich and outstanding activities such as: The opening ceremony on a floating stage in the middle of the Cau River on the evening of April 25, a performance of typical intangible cultural heritage of the ethnic groups in the Cau River basin with the theme “Impressive source of heritage of the Cau River” on the evening of April 26, a fair of regional specialties of the Cau River basin OCOP, an exhibition of paintings - photos - books, two seminars on investment and tourism promotion, along with a series of exciting cultural - sports activities.

At Song Cau Walking Street, Bac Kan City – where the main stage of the opening ceremony was located, people have gradually become accustomed to the image of groups of workers setting up the stage, sound, and lighting day and night. Unlike events that usually take place in halls and cultural houses, this time, the entire space of the opening night was opened up to nature.

The floating stage on the Cau River - a cultural and historical symbol flowing through the area - is not only an artistic highlight but also demonstrates the creativity in organization and new ways of doing things of the locality in the last year before the merger.

Ms. Tran Thi Khanh Huyen, Song Cau ward, Bac Kan city excitedly shared: “For decades, this is the first time I have seen Bac Kan organize such a grand event. We often come to watch the stage being built. The stage is really impressive when it is built on the Song Cau river. We have only tested the stage and the actors have practiced, we have seen how sparkling and impressive it is. I am really looking forward to the opening night…

Ms. Trieu Thi Lanh, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai ward, Bac Kan city shared: Yesterday, when I went to watch the rehearsal, I thought I was at some big festival in the lowlands. The stage was beautiful, the lights were bright, the sound was lively...

At the riverside grandstand area, many families and groups of young people arrived from the evening to choose a favorable position. The excited, bustling atmosphere spread throughout the Cau River walking street. Some people took the opportunity to take photos, others livestreamed the preparation moment, many children happily ran around the sparkling decorative lights.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year's opening night will feature professional artists, combined with a large number of extras. The floating stage is designed with a modern design with a high-standard sound and lighting system, a large LED screen, multi-layered lighting effects, smoke, fire, combined with unique mapping projection technology. The program's content revolves around the theme "Song Cau - where the source converges", honoring the culture and people of Bac Kan and the provinces in the Cau River basin.

Bac Kan Culture - Tourism Week 2025 is not only a cultural - artistic and sports meeting place but also a place to connect the community, expressing the pride and love of the people for their homeland. In the context of Bac Kan preparing to merge with Thai Nguyen, this is an opportunity for Bac Kan people to preserve beautiful memories, affirming the identity of the land at the source of Cau River.
