A press release issued by the Lebanese presidential palace stated that the agreement would first require Israel to refrain from attacking the southern suburbs of Beirut in exchange for Iranian-backed Hezbollah ceasing attacks on Israel.

Hassan Fadlallah, a Hezbollah official, told Al-Manar television that Hezbollah would support a comprehensive ceasefire across Lebanon as a preparatory step for the Israeli withdrawal and that the group would monitor whether the ceasefire was implemented in the coming days.

In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, US President Donald Trump also announced that following direct phone calls with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior Hezbollah representatives through intermediaries, Israel and Hezbollah agreed that "all hostilities will cease."

According to Trump, Israel will not attack Hezbollah, and Hezbollah will also cease its attacks against Israel. At the same time, Trump emphasized that no Israeli soldiers have entered Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, and that forces heading towards the city have turned back.

Previously, Iran also claimed that Israel's military operations in Lebanon targeting Hezbollah forces violated the ceasefire between Iran and the United States.

According to the Iranian state-affiliated Tasnim news agency, a ceasefire in Lebanon by Israel is a prerequisite for maintaining the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the US, and it asserts that this ceasefire "has now been violated on all fronts."

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi previously posted on the X platform that Lebanon is part of a ceasefire agreement with the US and any violation on one front “will be seen as a violation on all fronts.”

He wrote: "The United States and Israel must be held accountable for the consequences of any violations of the ceasefire."

Amid escalating tensions in Lebanon, the United Nations also expressed “deep concern” over military activities in southern Lebanon and surrounding areas.
