As a highlight in this movement, Tax Office 4 of Can Tho City recorded a usage rate of over 98% for eTax Mobile. Mr. Pham Thanh Nhan, Head of Tax Office 4, said that identifying the deployment of the eTax Mobile application as a key task in promoting and supporting individuals and business households in the area, the unit has proactively disseminated information through conferences combined with direct guidance on installing and using the application following the motto "hands-on training".
Simultaneously, Tax Department 4 intensified communication through social media platforms such as Facebook and Zalo OA to expand reach and leverage the role of mass organizations and specialized teams to improve implementation efficiency. As a result, taxpayers gradually began regularly using functions such as checking tax obligations, monitoring tax information, and becoming familiar with electronic tax payment. The number of taxpayers visiting the tax office in person decreased, especially during peak periods of tax declaration and payment.
Furthermore, the implementation of electronic invoices and electronic invoices generated from cash registers has also achieved very positive results. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, the total number of electronic invoices used in the city exceeded 90.1 million. Regarding electronic invoices generated from cash registers, the entire city currently has 7,121 businesses registered to use them, achieving a coverage rate of 96%.
Connect and share data.
According to Mr. Phan Tien Lan, Head of the Can Tho City Tax Department, in implementing the Government's, the Ministry of Finance's , and the Tax Department's policies on digital transformation, the city's Tax Department proactively issued a digital transformation plan at the beginning of 2026 as a basis for the synchronized implementation of tasks throughout the entire sector. The plan focuses on promoting the application of information technology in all aspects of tax management; strengthening connectivity and data sharing; improving the quality of online public services; and expanding digital platforms to serve taxpayers.
The city's tax department strives to maintain and improve upon the achievements already made, ensuring that 100% of tax applications are integrated and operate in a digital environment; 100% of administrative procedure records and results are digitized; and ensuring that over 90% of citizens and businesses are satisfied with the use of online public services.
Based on this, the city's Tax Department has implemented a comprehensive set of solutions, focusing on Project 06, and promoting the connection and integration of taxpayer data with the National Population Database. To date, 100% of applications on the Tax Public Service Portal and eTax Mobile have been integrated with the electronic identification system (VNeID), allowing citizens to use their identification accounts when carrying out tax administrative procedures.
The standardization of taxpayer data has been carried out vigorously. Currently, over 99% of individual tax identification numbers have been reviewed, with 59% synchronized with personal identification codes. For organizations, over 82% of tax identification numbers have been verified, meeting the requirements for electronic identification. Notably, the Tax Department has strengthened data sharing with business registration agencies, ensuring that 100% of newly established businesses are issued tax identification numbers on the same day.
The tax sector is also gradually researching and applying big data and artificial intelligence (AI) in data analysis and risk management, aiming to build a modern tax management model. Mr. Phan Tien Lan affirmed: In the coming time, the city's tax sector will continue to carry out its tasks to achieve the goals set out in the 2026 digital transformation plan, contributing to building a modern, professional tax sector and improving the quality of service to citizens and businesses.
