Mr. Pham Huong Son, Chairman of the Dong Nai City Tourism Association, said that becoming a centrally-governed city opens up many new development opportunities for Dong Nai, with tourism expected to become one of the important economic sectors. However, along with the opportunities come considerable pressure as the locality must create tourism products that are competitive enough to attract tourists and contribute more significantly to economic growth.
According to Mr. Pham Huong Son, in the future, when Long Thanh Airport becomes operational, Dong Nai's tourism industry will have a great opportunity to break through. Therefore, the tourism industry hopes to receive more opinions and solutions from experts, businesses, and localities to find a suitable direction, create a wider impact for the image of Dong Nai tourism, and gradually help tourism truly "take off" alongside strategic transportation infrastructure.
At the seminar, tourism experts and businesses put forward proposals and solutions to contribute to the development of tourism in Dong Nai, such as: Dong Nai needs a tourism spatial plan associated with Long Thanh Airport; developing tourism products in Dong Nai linked to Long Thanh Airport; creating mechanisms to attract investors to have more standard resort product chains; digitizing tourist destinations so that tourists can easily search and access them upon arrival at the airport…
Mr. Truong Trung Thanh, Deputy Director of Long Thanh International Airport, believes that airports should not only be places for receiving and sending flights or transiting passengers, but also become "starting points" for tourism experiences. The goal is not just to attract tourists once, but more importantly, to create an appeal that encourages them to return many times.

According to Mr. Truong Trung Thanh, as soon as passengers arrive at the airport, there needs to be immediate access to tourism information such as destination introductions, tours, accommodation services, cuisine, or local specialties. Rapid connectivity between the airport and tourist destinations, along with a convenient and modern service ecosystem, will contribute to extending the length of stay and enhancing the tourist experience.
Representatives from Long Thanh International Airport also suggested that, for Dong Nai's tourism to truly break through in the new phase, it is necessary to build a synchronized tourism ecosystem around the airport. In this ecosystem, the application of digital technology, enhanced promotion, and the creation of unique products with distinct characteristics will play a crucial role in retaining tourists.
To maximize the advantages of tourism development associated with Long Thanh Airport, Mr. Vu The Binh (Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association) stated that Long Thanh International Airport will become a key highlight, creating a major impetus for the development of tourism and services in Dong Nai in the future. When the airport becomes operational with an expected passenger volume of hundreds of millions per year, the area surrounding the airport needs to be developed comprehensively with amenities serving tourists such as entertainment, dining, healthcare, shopping, and accommodation.
Mr. Vu The Binh noted that, along with the development of the airport, supporting services will gradually increase in proportion, becoming a driving force for the local economy. Therefore, the State and Dong Nai city need to have a decisive investment orientation, accelerating the formation of a service ecosystem around the airport with full amenities to meet the increasingly diverse needs of passengers and international tourists.

Acknowledging the contributions of experts and businesses regarding tourism, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City People's Committee Le Truong Son requested that relevant departments and agencies urgently advise the city's People's Committee on developing a tourism development plan until 2035, with a vision to 2055, with clear orientations that are consistent with the local potential and advantages. In particular, the city needs to focus on developing a tourism and service ecosystem linked to Long Thanh International Airport to effectively utilize the impetus from this national strategic infrastructure project.
Mr. Le Truong Son stated that since this is an international airport located in Dong Nai, the local authorities need to proactively coordinate with central ministries and agencies to effectively exploit the potential for developing services, trade, and tourism around the airport. In addition, the city needs to focus on attracting investment in large-scale, high-quality accommodation facilities and hotels, as the area around the airport currently lacks sufficient accommodation to meet future development needs.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai City agreed on the principle of repositioning the image and building a new tourism brand identity for Dong Nai, and assigned relevant departments and agencies to urgently implement it. Besides investing in infrastructure, Dong Nai identifies training tourism human resources as a crucial task, focusing on improving the quality of tourism workers, tour guides, receptionists, and related service personnel to meet the requirements of professional and modern tourism development in the coming period.
