“We are really happy. I think this is a great season. Winning a title is extremely important. In addition, we also reached the final of the Southeast Asian Cup, only losing to Buriram on penalties, and finished in third place in the V.League as well as officially qualifying for the Asian Cup next season. With a new team, I think it is a great achievement,” coach Mano Polking told the media after CAHN's championship on the evening of June 29.
CAHN won the National Cup after defeating SLNA 5-0 in the final. The German-Brazilian strategist said SLNA is a team with a lot of fighting spirit. But today, his players played a perfect match to bring home the championship.
“The players believe in my football philosophy, in the way we build our game. It is the best thing for any coach to see his players believe in and execute their tactical ideas. We always try to play beautiful football, control the game and create many chances. And today, winning 5-0 in a final is a worthy result,” he continued.
It is worth mentioning that although Coach Polking was very successful when leading the Thai team, at the club level, the National Cup was his first championship. For CAHN, this is also the first championship of the Police team in this arena.
“Football is about emotions. These are tears of happiness, not tears of sadness. I am really happy because this is an important title for the club, for the players and for me personally. I always live fully in every moment of the match. When you are too happy, sometimes the emotions just burst out,” he concluded.
In the immediate future, Coach Polking and the players will rest after a season of hard work. After that, the team will return to the goals of the new season. In particular, CAHN aims to compete for the V.League championship as well as the goals when participating in the international arena.
