Support of nearly 400 million

Immediately after the tragic fire that claimed the lives of a mother and her two children in Hamlet 2, Co Am Commune, Vinh Bao District, Hai Phong City, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho - Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee, along with representatives from Vinh Bao District and several city departments and agencies, visited and offered condolences to the bereaved family.

According to sources from Nguoi Dua Tin , initially, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City is supporting the families of the victims with 30 million VND, Vinh Bao district with 30 million VND, Co Am commune with 10 million VND, the Hai Phong City Red Cross Society with 5 million VND, and the Vinh Bao District Women's Union with 3 million VND...

Speaking to Nguoi Dua Tin (The Informer) , Mr. Doan Van Thanh, Head of the Education and Training Department of Vinh Bao District, said that, following the direction of the Vinh Bao District People's Committee, the district's education sector has called for the support and assistance of teachers from kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools in the area.

“Just three hours after the appeal was made, on the afternoon of February 1st, teachers at 74 kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools in Vinh Bao district had donated 270 million VND. That same evening, representatives from the Vinh Bao District Department of Education and Training handed over this money to support the family,” Mr. Doan Van Thanh informed.

The only survivor of the fire was NPTT, a student in class 10 C2 at Nguyen Binh Khiem High School. Teacher Tong Cong Thuong, the principal of Nguyen Binh Khiem High School, informed Nguoi Dua Tin that NPTT is a very well-behaved and academically gifted student, loved by her teachers and classmates. Recently, she won third prize in the city-level Chemistry competition for gifted students.

"To encourage and share the grief with NPTT, the teachers at the school initially contributed 30 million VND to support the family. In the future, the school plans to call for support to open a savings account for the child," shared teacher Tong Cong Thuong.

As reported by Nguoi Dua Tin , Mr. Dao Nguyen Linh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Co Am commune, Vinh Bao district, Hai Phong city, confirmed that the fire that occurred in Hamlet 2, Co Am commune in the early morning of February 1st claimed the lives of a mother and her two children.

Previously, Ms. X and her husband had moved from Thai Binh province to rent a room in Hamlet 2, Co Am commune, to sell nutritious porridge. On the night of January 31st and the early morning of February 1st, when the fire broke out, Ms. X's husband was at work and not home. Only Ms. X and her four children were in the house. When the fire started, Ms. X's eldest child managed to escape. Ms. X and her two younger children perished in the fire.

According to sources from Nguoi Dua Tin , at 3:05 AM on February 1st, the 114 Center of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Hai Phong City Police) received a report of a house fire in Hamlet 2 (opposite Cay Xanh Temple) in Co Am commune, Vinh Bao district.

Immediately after receiving the report, the 114 Center sought guidance from superiors and simultaneously notified the Fire and Rescue Police Team of Vinh Bao District and the Fire and Rescue Police Team of Tien Lang District (both in Hai Phong City) to send forces and fire trucks to the scene to organize firefighting and rescue operations. The fire was subsequently extinguished.

Authorities in Hai Phong City are currently urgently investigating the cause of the fire and working to mitigate its consequences .
