Supporting women's holistic development

In order to help female members improve their quality of life and contribute to affirming their position in the family and society, the Women's Union of Thanh Thuy commune has implemented many practical activities in recent times, creating opportunities for members to study, improve their knowledge, and strive to become wealthy.

The Women's Union of Thanh Thuy commune, in coordination with the Thanh Thuy Regional Health Center, organized a free health care program for female officials, workers, employees, and members of the Women's Union of the commune.

The entire commune has 25 women's associations in residential areas, 1 police association, and 2 elderly women's associations. Thanks to the innovation in content and form of activities, the Thanh Thuy Commune Women's Union has attracted many members. In 2025, the union admitted 82 new members, bringing the total number of members in the commune to 3,520, with a membership rate of 76.69%. In 2025, the emulation movement "Building the Vietnamese woman of the new era" was enthusiastically participated in by the associations to improve themselves with the criteria of: having knowledge, morality, health, and responsibility towards themselves, their families, and society, and was concretized in the emulation movement "Building a friendly, compassionate, united, integrated, and developing woman of the ancestral land". The Women's Union of the commune has proactively coordinated with functional agencies and socio-political organizations to raise awareness and responsibility among women, men, and the community in building "prosperous, equal, progressive, happy, and sustainable" families. The criteria of the "Building a family with 5 no's and 3 clean's" campaign have been widely and comprehensively implemented among cadres, women's union members, and the people.

In 2025, the Women's Union of the commune supported an additional 18 households in achieving the "5 No's, 3 Cleanliness" criteria, helping 2 households escape poverty, reducing the poverty rate in the commune to 1.71%, and making a positive contribution to completing the criteria for building advanced new rural areas. Currently, the entire commune has 5 residential areas recognized as model new rural residential areas. The Women's Union participates in building new rural areas with the theme "Clean houses, clean gardens, clean village roads and alleys," coordinating the planting and care of flower-lined roads to create a green, clean, and beautiful environment. The model of reducing plastic waste in public places has been implemented in 13 branches with 17 waste collection bins to raise funds for charity, and the "5 No's, 3 Cleanliness" model has been established in one branch with 10 members, making an important contribution to improving the material and spiritual lives of women and building a bright, green, clean, and beautiful environment.

To support women's economic self-reliance, the Thanh Thuy Commune Women's Union has promoted the movement of women helping each other develop economically. The Union focuses on implementing the "Support for Women's Entrepreneurship Project 2017-2025" with specific activities: Branches conduct surveys of poor and near-poor households; assign and register to assist poor and near-poor households to escape poverty. Currently, the Union manages 17 loan groups with a total outstanding loan balance of over 40 billion VND for nearly 700 households. Along with providing capital support for members to develop production, the Thanh Thuy Commune Women's Union also focuses on improving the knowledge and management and business skills of its members. The Union sends its officials and organizes training courses. As a result, women are able to further develop their knowledge and skills to promote and affirm their role in household economic development.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung - Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee and Chairwoman of the Women's Union of the commune, said: “With the spirit of 'Helping those in need,' the Union has organized many meaningful and practical activities and models in the past, such as visiting and giving gifts to poor members' families and those facing sudden difficulties. At the same time, we have coordinated with political and social organizations to help disadvantaged families.” During the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the Union coordinated the distribution of 35 gifts to female members and orphaned children worth over 21 million VND; the branches distributed 28 gifts worth 14 million VND. The branches also distributed 56 gifts to new recruits with a total value of nearly 17 million VND.
