On July 29, 2024, Hoa Phat signed a contract to supply 2,000 20DC container shells to Hapag-Lloyd, Germany's largest container shipping company and one of the top 5 container shipping companies in the world. This event not only opens up opportunities for strategic cooperation but also affirms that Hoa Phat's "Made in Vietnam" containers meet international standards in the most demanding markets.
The ceremony was attended by senior leaders from Hapag-Lloyd, represented by Ms. Andrea Schöning, CEO of Container. Representing Hoa Phat were Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Hoa Phat Steel Products Joint Stock Company, and the Board of Directors of Hoa Phat Container Manufacturing Joint Stock Company.

We believe this collaboration will not only enhance the efficiency of our supply chain but also strengthen our long-term presence in the Vietnamese market, contributing to the regional economy .”
At the signing ceremony, Mr. Vu Duc Sinh, Director of Hoa Phat Container Manufacturing Joint Stock Company, shared: “Hoa Phat is proud to be a partner with Hapag-Lloyd. After this shipment, we believe that the two sides will continue to cooperate on a larger scale in the future.”
"This shipment of 2,000 20DC containers is designed with many advanced features, including a reinforced chassis to carry heavy loads, meeting the requirements of the maritime transport market. To ensure quality, each container is inspected by Hapag-Lloyd-designated inspectors and an accredited classification organization. The containers have a maximum load capacity of 32,500 kg, and the doors are equipped with anti-theft hinges and special tracking devices for easy monitoring during transportation. This is one of the advantages that helps Hapag-Lloyd provide customers with the safest and most transparent products," a representative from Hoa Phat added.
The newly constructed container shipment for Hapag-Lloyd has a maximum load capacity of 32,500 kg, and the doors are equipped with anti-theft hinges and special tracking devices.
Since the new container factory became operational, Hapag-Lloyd has organized numerous visits and exchanges with Hoa Phat, including inspections and tests to ensure the containers meet the set standards. The container shells are manufactured at Hoa Phat's container factory in Phu My II Expanded Industrial Park, Phu My town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
Hoa Phat's containers are designed and manufactured according to international standards, fully meeting the technical requirements for intercontinental cargo transportation. The entire process, from raw materials and production to product acceptance, is strictly controlled by an advanced, highly automated quality management system.
As a specialized product with a majority export volume, Hoa Phat also expressed its desire to receive maximum support in terms of policies and administrative procedures from state agencies to facilitate container exports, contributing to boosting exports, increasing foreign exchange earnings, and enhancing Vietnam's position in the global container manufacturing industry and international transportation sector.
With years of experience in industrial production, Hoa Phat aims to optimize production management and expand its market to quickly reach product design capacity and capitalize on opportunities in the logistics market. The Group plans to study investment in phase 2 at an appropriate time to achieve a total capacity of 500,000 TEU/year.
