Vietjet also said that some flights to and from Tho Xuan (Thanh Hoa), Vinh (Nghe An), Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), Phu Bai (Hue) and some other airports in the storm-affected areas may have to adjust their operation plans on August 24 and 25.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, storm No. 5 (Kajiki) is directly affecting aviation activities, with the four airports most heavily affected: Tho Xuan (Thanh Hoa), Vinh (Nghe An), Dong Hoi (Quang Tri) and Phu Bai (Hue City). In addition, many other airports such as Noi Bai, Cat Bi, Van Don, Da Nang, Chu Lai and Pleiku are also required to proactively deploy prevention plans in case the storm changes direction or increases in intensity.

To ensure absolute safety, airports have activated 24/7 duty mode and strictly implemented storm prevention procedures: Checking and reinforcing infrastructure, clearing drainage, and preventing flooding.

Vinh airport in particular is required to pay special attention to repairing damaged structures and updating meteorological conditions to promptly and flexibly adjust flight operations.

Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation is also assigned to increase the provision of continuous weather forecasts and warnings. Airlines closely monitor developments and adjust flight plans to ensure the safety of passengers, crews and operations.
