Studying isn't just about getting the top score...

As August arrives, the sweltering heat of late summer seems unable to diminish the joyful emotions of the recent graduation ceremony at Quang Trung Specialized High School (Dong Xoai Ward). The outstanding achievements in this year's high school graduation exam further affirm the school's position. Names like Bui Quy Anh Khoa, Nguyen Thanh Hai, Nguyen Thi Kim Hue, Nguyen Duc Manh, Dao Viet Hung… are not only a source of pride for their families, but also a testament to the tireless efforts of the young generation of Dong Nai province.

Hard work and discipline

In the 2025 high school graduation exam, Bui Quy Anh Khoa, a student in class 12A specializing in Mathematics, graduating class of 2020, at Quang Trung High School for the Gifted, achieved the highest score in the school (a total of 37 points in the four graduation subjects: Mathematics, Literature, Physics, and Chemistry) and simultaneously became the runner-up in Dong Nai province.

Sharing the honor of being among the outstanding students, the list of top-scoring students in each subject group continues with the following names: Nguyen Thanh Hai (29 points, group A00), Dao Viet Hung (27.5 points, group A01), Nguyen Duc Manh (28 points, group B00), Nguyen Thi Kim Hue (28.75 points, group C00), Le Nhat Anh Duong (27.25 points, group D01), Dang Minh Phuc (27 points, group D07).

Dao Viet Hung, a 12th-grade student specializing in Mathematics and a two-time top scorer in the National University of Ho Chi Minh City's aptitude test, said: "I always remind myself that studying isn't just for exams or becoming a top scorer, but also for gaining knowledge. I don't have any secrets to studying. I try to discipline myself with social media, break down my study time into smaller segments, and adjust my schedule to keep my mind relaxed."

The spirit of self-study and the desire to excel are the impressive qualities of the outstanding students in this year's high school graduation exam.

For Bui Quy Anh Khoa, his goal was: "Learning must be effective. Always grasp the knowledge in textbooks, and understand the root of the problem before doing exercises." Because of this perseverance and determination, Khoa's average grade in 12th grade was 9.38, and he achieved very high results in the 2025 High School Graduation Exam – ranking second in Dong Nai province.

Commenting on the two top-scoring students in her class, Ms. Vu Thi Thuong, English teacher and homeroom teacher of class 12A specializing in Mathematics, shared: "I truly feel a lot of regret about the exam results of Anh Khoa and Viet Hung. Because they performed very well during their studies and mock exams, we expected even better results. They showed a love for science and outstanding self-learning abilities; they are both students with clear learning goals, resilience in the face of change, and a desire for self-improvement."

Commenting on Nguyen Thanh Hai, the top scorer in the A00 group with 29 points (Mathematics 9, Chemistry 10, Physics 10), Mr. Nguyen Van Thoa, Chemistry teacher and homeroom teacher of class 12C, shared: “Hai is well-behaved, polite, self-motivated, has good thinking skills, is always friendly with his classmates, and helps others with their studies. Hai's performance in class and in mock exams meant that his results in the recent exam didn't surprise me. He deserves this 'sweet reward'.”

Ms. Phung Thi Thanh Huong, a teacher of Economics and Law Education and homeroom teacher of class 12E, which had two top scorers in the D group in the recent exam, shared: "We not only teach knowledge, but also contribute to shaping the character and life skills of our students."

Pham Thi Thuy Trang, a chemistry teacher and homeroom teacher of class 12D, the class with the top scorer in the humanities/social sciences group, said: "We not only teach academics, but also teach students how to live, how to dream, and how to pursue their dreams."
