Kane is currently Bayern Munich's main attacking threat. |
Following their 3-0 victory over Stuttgart in the German Cup final, Bayern Munich not only ended the season with a title but also quickly quelled numerous transfer rumors surrounding Harry Kane and Michael Olise. When asked about reports that Barcelona wanted to sign Kane, honorary president Uli Hoeness responded firmly.
“Harry Kane is the best signing Bayern have ever made,” Hoeness said. “Bayern is a club that buys players, not sells them.”
He went on to emphasize: "Kane will stay. And Barcelona don't have enough money either."
This statement quickly attracted attention because Kane had just had one of the best games of the season. The England striker scored a hat-trick against Stuttgart to help Bayern win the DFB-Pokal. Kane's three goals came in the 55th, 80th, and injury time minutes.
The 32-year-old striker finished the season with 61 goals in all competitions, becoming the most important factor in Bayern's domestic double under coach Vincent Kompany.
“Kane is a complete player,” coach Kompany said after the match. “He doesn’t just score goals. Kane is everywhere, from defense to attack. He’s a special player.”
Meanwhile, Kane also admitted it was one of the best moments of his career. “Scoring a hat-trick in a final is a very special feeling. I really loved this season at Bayern,” said the England captain.
Besides Kane, Bayern also sent a clear message about Michael Olise's future. Jose Mourinho's presence in the stands in Berlin fueled rumors that Real Madrid were monitoring the French player. However, Hoeness immediately reacted.
"I hope I don't meet Mourinho. He might be monitoring Olise, but he won't be able to get him," the Bayern executive stated on Sky Germany.
Hoeness's statements suggest that Bayern are looking to maintain squad stability after a successful season, while also sending a strong signal to major European clubs ahead of the 2026 summer transfer window.
