According to information from Military Hospital 175 , the patient was prescribed an antibiotic to treat a respiratory infection. After about three days of use, the patient began to develop skin lesions all over his body, peeling off in patches, accompanied by symptoms of infection and exhaustion.
The patient was transferred to many medical facilities before being admitted to Military Hospital 175 with skin damage covering about 92% of his body. The back and buttocks - areas that were under pressure - had many ulcers, blisters and epidermal necrosis.
After intensive treatment with a specialized burn and immunology protocol, the patient's condition gradually improved. After ten days, the affected skin area was reduced and the patient was able to move around lightly. Currently, the patient has been discharged from the hospital in a stable condition.
According to doctors, the patient suffered from Lyell syndrome – a severe hypersensitivity reaction to the drug. This is a rare disease with a high mortality rate, especially in the elderly or those with underlying diseases if not treated promptly.
