Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Council resolved many important contents on the first day of operation.

On July 1, the new Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Council held its first session to approve many important contents, ensuring the smooth operation of the two-level local government apparatus.

The meeting took place in a solemn and exciting atmosphere. The meeting heard reports on the establishment of committees of the People's Council; specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee; Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the People's Council; and temporary assignment of staff and civil servants at the provincial and communal levels.

According to the announcement at the meeting, the number of delegates to the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province is new, with 112 delegates, including 63 delegates from the old Thai Nguyen province and 49 delegates from the old Bac Kan province.

The proportion of female delegates is over 38%; ethnic minorities account for over 44%. There are 84 delegates with post-graduate degrees; 99 delegates with advanced political theory qualifications.

The session announced the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the appointment of the Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Heads of Committees of the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province.

Accordingly, comrade Nguyen Dang Binh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was appointed by the National Assembly to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province.

The meeting announced the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province on approving the Deputy Head of the Provincial People's Council.

The meeting resolved to establish 13 specialized departments, including: Science and Technology; Agriculture and Environment; Justice; Office of the Provincial People's Committee; Culture, Sports and Tourism; Health; Construction; Industry and Trade; Education and Training; Finance; Home Affairs; Ethnicity and Religion; Provincial Inspectorate.

After the reorganization, the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province has 13 specialized agencies and 1 equivalent organization, the Thai Nguyen Industrial Park Management Board. The province has 240 focal points, a reduction of 14 agencies and 158 focal points.

The meeting resolved to appoint 15 members of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province, including the Directors of 13 specialized agencies, the Commander of the Provincial Military Command and the Director of the Provincial Police.

The meeting resolved to temporarily assign 41,106 positions for cadres and civil servants. Of which, 2,080 positions are at the provincial level; 4,930 positions are at the communal level. There are 9,565 positions for public servants at the provincial level; 24,440 positions at the communal level. The number of positions assigned by the Party and State to associations is 91 positions.

The People's Council of Thai Nguyen province requested the province's specialized agencies and the People's Council's Committees to urgently start implementing the targets and tasks of 2025, bringing the new province of Thai Nguyen to develop with the country.
