More than 2,600 workers "cross the holiday"
During the Independence Day holiday (September 2) this year, at the construction site of the entire Huu Nghi - Chi Lang expressway passing through 11 communes and wards of Lang Son province, construction units maintained 100% of their personnel, mobilized 2,670 personnel, 1,243 pieces of equipment, and simultaneously deployed 141 construction teams. The urgent working pace was maintained to ensure the goal of opening the route in 2025 as required by the Prime Minister.
In order for construction activities to not affect people's lives and travel during the holiday, project leaders have requested construction units to increase signs and signals at night, arrange traffic control forces and regularly clean the project construction area.
Along with that, the supervision consulting force arranges adequate personnel, closely monitors each item, controls quality - acceptance according to plan; regularly inspects the site to promptly remind and request to overcome existing problems.
Since May, the Northeast mountainous region has experienced heavy rains earlier than usual, causing many challenges for construction organization and overall progress. However, construction and installation units have still implemented solutions to organize production at the construction site. According to the report of the Project Management Board, since May, the construction units have achieved a construction volume value of items equivalent to more than 400 billion VND, the total volume of the entire project has reached 2,361.7 billion VND, equivalent to 34.45% of the contract value. With the determination to accelerate, investors and project contractors are aiming to complete the route by the end of 2025.
Mr. Tran Van Chuan, Deputy Director of the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang Expressway Project Management Board, said: “The current workload is still very large, so we focus on working during the holidays. The common spirit of the construction units is to mobilize maximum resources to meet the schedule of opening the route by the end of 2025.”
Overcome the sun and rain
During the September 2nd holiday, the Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway construction site maintained a bustling pace. Contractors mobilized more than 3,300 personnel and 1,475 machines and equipment, deployed simultaneously at 287 construction sites along the entire route.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan - Deputy General Director of Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway Project Enterprise, during the project implementation, the construction team had to continuously solve technical challenges, construction conditions, and workload. Determining that Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway is the long-standing desire of the people and authorities of Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces for many years, the collective of cadres, engineers and workers always take advantage of every precious day to bring the project to the finish line soon.
The Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) Expressway, with a length of 121 km and a total investment of nearly 23,000 billion VND, passes through the two provinces of Lang Son and Cao Bang, and is divided into two phases. Phase 1 of the project is 93.35 km long, including 2 tunnels through the mountains and 64 overpasses across the two rivers Ky Cung and Bang Giang, along with many streams and provincial roads. Phase 2 of the project is invested in the form of PPP, including expanding the entire 93.35 km of phase 1 to a scale of 4 lanes, and at the same time investing in a further 26.47 km connecting to Tra Linh border gate, with a total investment of 12,072 billion VND. In this phase, 17 new bridges and 3 tunnels through the mountains will be built. Phase 2 of the project is expected to be completed in December 2027. The Huu Nghi - Chi Lang Expressway project is nearly 60 km long, with a total investment of 11,029 billion VND. Construction started on April 21, 2024. The completed expressway will directly connect three international border gates: Huu Nghi, Coc Nam, and Tan Thanh. |
Accordingly, implementing the Prime Minister 's direction on organizing the construction of key national projects, construction contractors have organized production according to the motto "overcoming the sun and rain, not losing to the wind and storm", "3 shifts, 4 shifts", "working through holidays and Tet", to speed up the progress of key national projects. The Executive Board and the unit assigned as the general contractor for construction and installation have requested contractors to organize continuous construction, maintaining 100% of the workforce during the National Day on September 2, ensuring project progress.
“During holidays, workers of the entire project consider the construction site as their place to celebrate Independence Day, with full staff on duty, determined not to be afraid of difficulties or hardships to organize production and speed up the project progress. At the same time, contractors also implement good treatment policies for engineers and workers according to State regulations and the unit's own policies, to encourage workers, especially during these holidays" - Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan, Deputy General Director of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway project enterprise shared.
With the determination of the construction units in implementing the two expressway projects, it is believed that by the end of 2025, the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang and Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) border gate expressway projects will be put into operation in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister, contributing to the successful implementation of the goal of the whole country completing 3,000 km by the end of 2025.
