The 1st Hung Vuong Cup Tan Chau Ornamental Chicken Beauty Contest

On March 23rd, the Provincial Association of Ornamental Plants and Gardening (SVC&LV) and the Hung Vuong Ornamental Chicken Club of the province organized the 1st Hung Vuong Cup Tan Chau Ornamental Chicken Beauty Contest 2025.

The organizers awarded first, second, and third prizes to individuals whose ornamental chickens achieved high scores in the competition.

The competition attracted the participation of nearly 20 ornamental chicken clubs from provinces and cities nationwide, with nearly 100 ornamental chickens competing. The judges selected the chickens based on criteria such as: chickens weighing under 1.1kg for mature chickens and under 1.05kg for young chickens; bright, vibrant colors; majestic, friendly appearance; abundant feathers; neat face; long tail feathers; and technical criteria such as head, wings, legs, mane, body feathers, tail, etc. The most beautiful chickens were then selected to participate in the ranking performance round.

The judges scored the chickens based on various criteria to select the best ones.

The Tan Chau Ornamental Chicken Beauty Contest, sponsored by Hung Vuong Cup, attracted nearly 20 ornamental chicken clubs from within and outside the province.

In the preliminary round, the judges will score the chickens according to regulations such as external appearance, color, feather smoothness, and weight to select chickens for the final competition. In the final round, the breeder and the chicken will go on a stage to show the chicken's gait and the friendliness between the chicken and its owner, for the judges to score each detail according to the published scoring sheet.

After two rounds of judging, the Organizing Committee awarded 1st prize to Mr. Nguyen Tien Tung from the Ornamental Chicken Club of Thai Nguyen province, 2nd prize, 3rd prize, and 2 consolation prizes. In addition, 5 top ten prizes for season chickens and 10 prizes for young chickens were awarded to members of the participating clubs.

This is the first year the Hung Vuong Ornamental Chicken Club of the province has organized this competition. The competition aims to preserve and develop the beauty of the precious Bantam chicken breed in Vietnam, while also creating a beneficial platform for interaction and connection among ornamental chicken enthusiasts nationwide.
