Health care communication has been intensified, contributing to reducing information poverty in Lien Son commune.
The commune has focused on investing in upgrading and concreting the main roads and alleyways in hamlets; completing drainage ditches, contributing to improving the landscape and facilitating trade and socio- economic development. Along with that, the electricity, telecommunications, and internet systems have been renovated and expanded, meeting the living and production needs of the people. Many hamlet cultural centers, such as those in Lien Khue, Nuoc Lanh, Gura, Phu Ngoc, Ghen, Son Thuy, etc., have been newly built or upgraded to serve community, cultural, and sports activities. Water supply projects have been invested in, and to date, 30 out of 44 hamlets meet environmental and food safety criteria. Waste collection and treatment, tree planting, and the construction of flower-lined roads continue to be effectively maintained. Parallel to infrastructure development, Lien Son commune is effectively implementing the project to restructure the agricultural sector towards ecological and circular economy. The OCOP program is being emphasized, with one product currently achieving 3 stars. The main products are bananas, guavas, pomelos, honey, cassava starch, and medicinal herbs. Agricultural cooperatives are promoting the application of high technology and linking along the value chain, creating sustainable livelihoods for the people.
Poverty reduction efforts have been comprehensively implemented with programs supporting housing, clean water, health insurance, electricity subsidies, and providing Tet (Lunar New Year) assistance for poor and near-poor households and ethnic minorities. By 2025, the commune will build 30 new houses and repair 8 houses for poor households, with a total cost of nearly 1.8 billion VND. Preferential credit policies, vocational training, and livelihood diversification have been effectively implemented, contributing to reducing the poverty rate to 1.06%. The fields of health and education continue to receive attention; the quality of primary healthcare has improved, and all levels of education maintain universal access and continuously improve quality. Many cultural and sports facilities have been invested in, with 35 sets of outdoor exercise equipment installed in village cultural centers; arts clubs have been expanded, contributing to the preservation and promotion of traditional culture. The commune also focuses on environmental protection with a model of collecting and treating wastewater and waste at the household level. The commune has intensified tree planting, installed lighting systems, and promoted awareness campaigns to reduce plastic waste in agricultural and forestry production. To date, Lien Son commune has achieved 14 out of 19 criteria for new rural development; 9 model residential areas have been recognized.
Comrade Nguyen Tien Dung - Vice Chairman of Lien Son Commune People's Committee, said: In the coming time, the Commune People's Committee will focus on implementing comprehensive solutions for sustainable poverty reduction. First, the commune will direct the review, updating, and adjustment of the list of poor households, near-poor households, and newly escaped-from-poverty households, ensuring the process is correct, objective, open, and transparent. Monitoring and evaluating the results of poverty reduction according to the multidimensional poverty standard for the 2026-2030 period will be strengthened, and close coordination with mass organizations and village heads will be maintained to promptly grasp the living conditions, income, and support needs of the people. The commune will continue to fully implement current support policies such as electricity subsidies, health insurance, and support for students from poor and near-poor households; while developing livelihood support models, vocational training, job creation, production support, agricultural extension, forestry extension, and industrial extension suitable to local conditions. We will effectively integrate resources, especially Project 2 on livelihood diversification and poverty reduction model development, prioritizing support for poor, near-poor, and newly-escaped-from-poverty households with production development needs. In addition, the Commune People's Committee will proactively coordinate and integrate capital from various programs, projects, and social resources to improve living conditions and develop livelihoods for the people. Regular inspection and monitoring will be conducted to ensure that support resources are used for the right purposes, for the right beneficiaries, effectively, and without duplication.
Lien Son commune aims to reduce the poverty rate to 0.60% by 2026, preventing a resurgence of poverty; improving people's income and quality of life, contributing to the achievement of the goal of building an advanced new rural commune. The People's Committee of the commune hopes to continue receiving the consensus and support of the people and the close cooperation of departments, agencies, and organizations in the implementation process.
With the determination of the Party Committee and the government, and the consensus of the people, Lien Son commune strives to become a model locality in building advanced new rural areas, contributing to building a more spacious, green, clean, and beautiful homeland, and improving the lives of its people.
