Hojlund is a bargain for Napoli

Former Napoli midfielder Ivano Trotta believes his old club were wise to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United.

Speaking on 1 Station Radio , Trotta said: “Hojlund is an extraordinary player. His performance against Fiorentina really impressed me. The €40-50 million fee that Napoli paid was completely worth it, because we are talking about a promising young talent."

Trotta analyzed that in the goal against Fiorentina, Hojlund handled the situation very well when he escaped offside, used strength and calmness to keep the ball under pressure from the defender and then scored.

The former midfielder also appreciated Hojlund's role in linking Napoli's play: "What impressed me most was the way Hojlund helped the team develop the ball forward. When Napoli passed quickly and along the flank, he covered very well, making it impossible for the defenders to close in. With what he showed, I think Napoli even paid less than Hojlund's real value."

The Danish international played for Atalanta and scored 10 goals in 34 games in the 2022/23 season before moving to MU. He joined Napoli last summer on loan with an option to buy.
