Currently, Son Heung-min has 136 appearances for the national team, equal to two legends Cha Bum-kun and Hong Myung-bo. If he plays in the match against Brazil, the 33-year-old star will officially surpass his two seniors to become the player with the most appearances for the Korean national team (137 matches).

Notably, the current head coach of South Korea is Hong Myung-bo - who held this record for many years. Son breaking the record under the guidance of coach Hong himself creates a meaningful moment in the history of Korean football.
