According to the Department of Education and Training, candidates who were absent this morning can still complete the registration procedures for the exam tomorrow morning, May 30th, before the Literature exam. Otherwise, they will be classified as candidates who dropped out and will not be eligible for admission to public high schools.
According to statistics up to this point, the entire city has 5 candidates who need assistance with the exam due to health issues.
The number of officials, teachers, and staff present was 17,803 out of 17,816, achieving a rate of 99.93%. Any invigilators absent from the examination site were replaced by reserve teachers, ensuring compliance with regulations.
This school year, approximately 147,000 students across the city are taking the junior high school graduation exam. Of these, nearly 125,000 candidates have registered to participate in the entrance exam for 10th grade in public high schools for the 2026-2027 school year.
Hanoi has established 224 examination centers with more than 5,300 official examination rooms and nearly 400 reserve examination rooms. 100% of the examination centers in the city have been thoroughly inspected by teams from the city's examination and admissions steering committee and the wards and communes, ensuring they fully meet the requirements of the examination regulations.
A total of 18,000 officials, teachers, and staff were mobilized to participate in various stages of the examination; they received thorough training, demonstrated a high sense of responsibility, and had a firm grasp of the regulations.
Given the large scale and high level of competition in the exam, Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, advised exam center leaders to remind candidates multiple times before entering the exam room to avoid unfortunate mistakes related to prohibited items, especially mobile phones.
The head of the Department of Education and Training also requested that before calling candidates into the examination room, the officials on duty should remind them to check their personal belongings and bags to ensure that no prohibited items or equipment are left behind.
According to him, repeatedly reminding candidates of this information is "never superfluous," because there have been cases where candidates accidentally brought mobile phones into the exam room due to carelessness or forgetting to check their personal belongings.
Simply bringing a phone into the exam room, even if the candidate hasn't used it, will still result in the invigilator having to record the incident and take action according to regulations if discovered. This directly affects the rights of candidates during the exam.
