According to regulations from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, candidates who do not take any exam will receive a failing grade, meaning they are ineligible for admission to public high schools. The admission score is calculated as the sum of the scores in Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Language, provided that no exam receives a failing grade.
This morning, over 151,000 candidates completed the Literature exam. This afternoon, they will continue with the Foreign Language exam, which will last 90 minutes.
On the morning of June 2nd, candidates will take the Mathematics exam. Those who registered for specialized classes and integrated programs will take their specialized subject exam in the afternoon of the same day, with a time limit of 150 minutes.

In 2026, Ho Chi Minh City will have the highest number of candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam nationwide after its administrative boundaries were expanded.
The entire city has arranged 242 examination centers, including 226 regular centers and 16 specialized centers. On the morning of May 31st, candidates completed the registration procedures and listened to the regulations being explained before entering the official examination sessions.
This year, public high schools in the city are recruiting over 118,000 students. To expand educational opportunities for students, Ho Chi Minh City also added five more public high schools to the enrollment system just before the exam.
In addition, 1,515 students were directly admitted to public high schools. These include students who won national and international awards; students from very small ethnic minority groups; students with disabilities; and students from ethnic minority boarding schools as stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training.
