Roads damaged due to construction of a key project in Long Thanh.

On June 2nd, during a working session between the Dong Nai City Party Committee delegation and Long Thanh ward, the local authorities requested the City People's Committee to address the issue of damage to local roads caused by the construction of key national projects.

Leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Long Thanh ward surveyed the area of ​​road damaged by vehicles transporting materials for key projects.

According to the People's Committee of Long Thanh Ward, the Bung Mon road was recently repaired and renovated starting on April 29th. However, due to the weak infrastructure of the road, the temporary repairs do not guarantee long-term use. Furthermore, the road currently lacks a drainage system on both sides, and with the high volume of heavy trucks using it, the road deteriorates rapidly.

On-site inspections revealed that the road had subsided, cracked, and deteriorated again. Furthermore, roads in the resettlement area near the aforementioned location were also degraded and damaged. According to local residents, the main reason for the rapid deterioration of the Bung Mon road and other roads in Long Thanh ward is the high volume of heavy-duty vehicles transporting construction materials for key projects. This puts excessive strain on the roads, making them unsuitable for long-term use.

Similarly, some roads in the Long An resettlement area, specifically in Ward 2, Long Thanh commune, are also showing signs of damage, subsidence, cracking, and water and sand accumulation. This is also due to the frequent passage of vehicles from the construction unit working on the nearby project.

Based on the above situation, Chairman of Long Thanh Ward People's Committee Le Hoang Son proposed that the Dong Nai City People's Committee consider and provide feedback to the investor to address the aforementioned shortcomings; thereby ensuring traffic safety and creating the best conditions for people to travel around the key transportation projects.

Regarding the repair and upgrade of National Highway 51 section passing through the ward, the construction is progressing slowly, causing localized traffic congestion and posing a danger to road users. The People's Committee of Long Thanh Ward requests the People's Committee of Dong Nai City to direct the investor and construction units to accelerate the progress to ensure smooth traffic flow for residents and vehicles in the area.

Long Thanh ward holds a particularly important role and position in Dong Nai city, both currently and in the future, with the presence of Long Thanh airport and a series of key national and city-level projects.

Nearly a year after the two-tiered local government model came into operation, the Party Committee and the local government of Long Thanh ward have determined to develop Long Thanh into a modern airport city, a new driving force for development in Dong Nai province. The development orientation goes beyond simply having an airport; it aims to become a center for services, logistics, trade, finance, and a modern urban center in the southern region.

Furthermore, the plan aims to maximize the advantages of strategic infrastructure, including Long Thanh Airport, expressways, the Cai Mep-Thi Vai and Phuoc An seaport systems, and planned national railway lines, with the goal of forming a large-scale logistics, cargo transshipment, and air services center.

Long Thanh is focusing on urban planning and management, accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital, implementing key projects, and developing its economy based on a service-logistics-high-tech model.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai City Party Committee Vo Tan Duc requested Long Thanh ward to seriously and effectively implement the City Party Committee's special 500-day emulation campaign on "Unity - Discipline - Efficiency - Breakthrough," building a civilized and modern Dong Nai, which will take place from May 1, 2026 to September 30, 2027, and continue to maintain and improve the quality of implementation until 2030.

The Party Committee and People's Committee of Long Thanh Ward are urgently directing and reviewing the entire ward's planning in conjunction with the development of Long Thanh Airport urban area and its surroundings to ensure consistency.

Regarding the recommendations on damaged roads, the slow progress of construction on National Highway 51, and other issues, the leaders of the Dong Nai City Party Committee assigned relevant units to consider and resolve them within their authority.
