This is the second year that the People's Committee of Long Dien District, in coordination with the border guard force, has organized a gathering and presented gifts to fishermen at the beginning of the year. Mr. Lam Van Hong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Long Dien District, said that a new feature of this year's gathering is that the locality has invited additional units providing vessel tracking equipment so that fishermen and boat owners can ask questions related to the technical aspects of the tracking equipment, such as why the equipment is not communicating or is disconnected…
Mr. Lam Van Hong wished the fishermen a successful first fishing trip of the year, with abundant catches of seafood, and especially emphasized that they should not engage in illegal fishing or violate foreign waters.
Long Dien District has more than 1,200 offshore fishing vessels. In 2023, no fishing vessels or fishermen from Long Dien District violated foreign waters.
