On May 30th, the People's Committee of Hue City held a ceremony to announce the revised Hue City Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, and to promote investment in 2026.
According to the new plan, Hue aims to become a distinctive festival city of Vietnam; a major regional center for culture, tourism, specialized healthcare, science and technology, innovation, and high-quality education and training .

A key highlight of the plan is the formation of two dynamic economic corridors. These include a North-South corridor developing along the eastern urban route and National Highway 1; and an East-West corridor along National Highway 49, creating a link between the central area and the coastal, lagoon, and mountainous regions.
In addition, the coastal road and National Highway 14 have been identified as important development axes for the economy, tourism, and national defense and security.

According to the revised plan, Hue City is organized into 6 development zones, with 3 growth poles including the central urban area, Phong Dien urban area (north) and Chan May urban area (south).
Notably, Hue will develop an international logistics center and a free trade zone linked to Chan May Port and Phu Bai International Airport; while prioritizing the attraction of digital technology, semiconductor industry, clean energy, and new materials. The Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone continues to be identified as a strategic growth pole for the city in the coming period.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Khac Toan said that adjusting the planning not only expands the development space but also shapes new growth drivers, creating a foundation for Hue to develop rapidly and sustainably after becoming a centrally-governed city.
On this occasion, Hue City also awarded investment approval decisions and investment registration certificates to 12 projects with a total capital of over 18,400 billion VND.
