Hung Yen strengthens management of extracurricular tutoring.

GD&TĐ - The Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen province will strengthen inspections and strictly handle cases of violations of regulations on tutoring and supplementary classes.

On September 11th, representatives from the Hung Yen Department of Education and Training announced that the Department had issued a document on strengthening the management of extracurricular tutoring for primary school students.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen province requires all primary schools to strictly implement the regulations on supplementary tutoring as stipulated in Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training; it strictly prohibits organizing supplementary tutoring in any form for primary school students, except for cases of training in arts, physical education, sports, and life skills.

The head of the educational institution shall strengthen the management and supervision of teachers in their unit to ensure strict compliance with regulations on tutoring, and shall be held accountable to the Department of Education and Training if teachers violate regulations on tutoring.

In addition, the Department requires educational institutions to focus on improving the quality of regular class hours and the quality of comprehensive educational activities for students when implementing a two-session-per-day teaching schedule for primary school students.

Select teaching content and educational activities that ensure knowledge acquisition and are appropriate to the psychological and physical health of primary school students; minimize ineffective online competitions to avoid putting pressure on students and their parents.

The Department of Education and Training also requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to strengthen the management of extracurricular tutoring activities in their areas, especially for centers that organize extracurricular tutoring. They should handle or recommend to the competent authorities to handle cases of primary school teachers violating regulations.

"In the coming period, the Department will strengthen inspections and strictly handle cases of violations of regulations on tutoring and supplementary classes," a representative of the Hung Yen Department of Education and Training added.
