Guide the Xo Dang people to grow specialty coffee to escape poverty

On September 29, the People's Committee of Tu Mo Rong commune, Quang Ngai province organized a program to help people develop organic agriculture and specialty coffee to build sustainable livelihoods for the Xo Dang people to escape poverty.

Dr. Pham S presented the book "Organic agriculture , an inevitable trend to participate in the global agricultural chain" to the Xo Dang people.

At the program, Dr. Pham S, former Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, directly guided the Xo Dang people on sustainable organic agricultural production techniques, from planting, care, preservation to harvesting; methods of linking the development of fruit trees, medicinal plants and specialty coffee to improve value and quality. Mr. Pham S also presented the book "Organic agriculture, an inevitable trend to participate in the global agricultural chain" and Bourbon coffee varieties for the Xo Dang people to develop specialty coffee gardens.

Mr. Tran Quoc Huy, Chairman of Tu Mo Rong Commune People's Committee, said that to help people develop a sustainable economy , the commune has donated agricultural tools, built a nursery to provide free seeds and invited experts to directly guide the techniques of specialty coffee production. When people have seeds and receive technical guidance from experts, an effective farming model will certainly be formed, creating high-value products, helping the Xo Dang people escape poverty sustainably. The commune will continue to call on businesses to cooperate with people to expand the area, process deeply, and build the brand of Tu Mo Rong specialty coffee.
