Targeting the "reading generation"

With its open spaces for all ages and dedicated reading rooms, conference rooms, and children's rooms, the Binh Thuan Provincial Library is increasingly affirming its role as a bridge to knowledge, contributing to maintaining and fostering a "reading generation" and a learning society in the future.

No longer just during the summer or on weekends, the Provincial Library now welcomes a steady stream of visitors almost every day of the week, becoming a popular place for learning, reading, and relaxation. The spacious, clean environment, with rooms designed to receive natural light, makes everyone who enters feel comfortable and relaxed, allowing them to immerse themselves in their favorite books and forget the passage of time. After being newly built and renovated, the reading rooms, computer rooms, children's rooms, etc., are all spacious and decorated with many attractive images and colors, appealing to young readers and convenient for reading and finding books.

In addition to traditional activities such as on-site reading and borrowing books to take home, the Provincial Library has implemented QR codes for information services to support readers in searching for materials, registering for library cards, and accessing resources on smart devices and the internet in the multimedia room. Monthly announcements of new books are available on the library's website, simplifying procedures and offering free library cards. Notably, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday, the Provincial Library is open to serve readers and provides conference rooms for various groups, creating opportunities for everyone to have more time to access books.

At the Provincial Library, in addition to reading books, the children are also guided in making simple handicrafts.

To improve the quality of the Provincial Library's operations in general and attract readers in particular, contributing to building a reading culture in the community, the Provincial Library has also coordinated with various departments and units to organize many book-related competitions such as the "Reading Culture Ambassador" contest; and to promote and introduce books. In addition, every year, the Provincial Library collaborates with schools, youth organizations, and associations to organize "Mobile Library" trips to serve students, youth union members, and teachers; and to circulate books and newspapers to district libraries, school libraries, and prison libraries throughout the province.

The procedure for obtaining a library card is simple and quick.

The journey of bringing the light of knowledge to readers is not something that happens overnight, but requires a process, effort, innovation, and creativity. The Provincial Library has better met the needs of readers, contributing to raising the level of cultural and spiritual enjoyment, attracting a large number of readers of all ages to the library, helping to nurture and maintain reading interest, and spreading reading culture in the community.

In the first quarter of 2025, the Binh Thuan Provincial Library welcomed nearly 580,000 readers accessing books, newspapers, and information through direct channels at the library, website, YouTube, online book access, and mobile library services. In addition, the unit added 500 new books, digitized 90 documents, provided mobile library services at 12 school locations, and published 742 promotional materials and 4 volumes of the Binh Thuan Information and Documentation Bulletin.
