(NLĐO) - Authorities have mobilized more than 300 people to control the forest fire.
According to initial information, at approximately 5 PM on March 4th, a forest fire broke out in Bau village, Nam Pam commune, Muong La district, Son La province. Upon discovering the fire, authorities mobilized over 300 people, including forest rangers, commune police, militia, community teams, and local residents, to implement firefighting measures.

In accessible areas, forces are actively cordoning off the area, creating firebreaks, and limiting the spread of the fire to other areas.
Due to the complex terrain of the fire area, mainly high rocky mountains that are difficult to access, and the fact that it was dark at the time of the fire, firefighting efforts faced many difficulties. By evening of the same day, the fire had still not been brought under control.
Earlier, at around 6 PM on March 3rd, a fire also broke out in Phong Lai commune, Thuan Chau district, Son La province, burning approximately 3 hectares of reed forest. The fire was extinguished that same evening.
Currently, Son La province faces a high risk of forest fires. Local authorities need to deploy forces in high-risk areas to monitor the situation and be ready to fight forest fires. Simultaneously, they should clear undergrowth, educate and guide the public on regulations regarding clearing and burning fields, and prevent fires from spreading into the forest.
