Living tennis legend Andre Agassi (USA) - owner of 8 Grand Slam titles, expressed his hope to contribute to the development of pickleball in Vietnam. He also could not hide his regret that he only now has the opportunity to set foot in the S-shaped strip of land.
Sharing at the exchange at Rach Mieu Stadium (HCMC) on the afternoon of March 26, Agassi said this was his first visit to Vietnam. "In my tennis career, I have had the opportunity to set foot in many countries but only now have I been able to come to Vietnam. That really makes me regret. However, in just a short time here, I have felt the hospitality and beauty of this country."
Regarding Agassi, he also achieved many other notable achievements such as an ATP Finals championship and a 1996 Olympic gold medal. Agassi also spent a long time at the top of the world rankings. After hanging up his racket in 2006, he took a break and then worked as a coach, working with Djokovic for a short time (2017-2018).

The American legend believes that pickleball - a sport that is growing strongly in the world - also has great potential in Vietnam.
"I am very excited to interact and compete with athletes from many countries. I know that the pickleball movement in Vietnam is growing strongly, with great energy and passion from the players. That makes me very happy to be here to share experiences, exchange techniques and help people understand more about this sport" - Agassi shared.
Not only paying attention to pickleball, Agassi also emphasized the importance of training in sports and shared what to focus on.

"Whether it's tennis or pickleball, the most important thing is to maintain a practice routine and enjoy the sport. There needs to be more quality playgrounds for people to practice, improve their skills, and have the opportunity to meet experienced players to learn from each other," the former world No. 1 tennis player emphasized.
Also attending the event, Ben Johns, one of the world's top pickleball players, expressed his surprise at the warm welcome from Vietnamese fans.
"I started playing pickleball in 2016 and have witnessed the strong growth of this sport. It's great to see more and more people participating, especially in Vietnam. I hope pickleball will continue to grow and connect the player community here" - Johns shared.
The exchange event with the participation of Agassi and Ben Johns not only brings memorable experiences to Vietnamese fans but also promises to create motivation for pickleball to develop more strongly in the future.
Because in this event, tennis player Trinh Linh Giang also appeared to interact with top players. In addition, the current top stars of the pickleball world such as Vinh Hien, Sophia Huynh Tran Ngoc Nhi attended and watched to learn more experience.
