The iOS 18 update was released on September 17 (Vietnam time), compatible with iPhone SE 2, iPhone SE 3 and iPhone XR and later. Four models of the iPhone 16 series will have the software pre-installed when they reach customers.
Recently, on the Reddit forum, the Apple support community and the MacRumors technology site, many users reported that the iPhone's battery drained when running iOS 18. This not only happened with older iPhones but also with the newly released iPhone 16.
Specifically: many people regret updating iOS 18 because it causes the phone battery to drain quickly, and after a month the phenomenon continues. This causes the battery health of the device to decrease rapidly.
Some users reported that the issue improved somewhat with the iOS 18.0.1 and iOS 18.1 beta updates.
Apple has yet to comment on the matter.
iOS 18 includes new Home screen customization features, upgraded messaging app, completely redesigned Photos app and some hidden features such as: start up and shut down without hardware keys, share Wifi password via QR code, adjust flashlight beam width, hide app labels on home screen, change apps into widgets right on home screen
