Imported iPhone 16 models have seen price drops of tens of millions of VND.

During the "It's glowtime" event, Apple unveiled the iPhone 16 lineup, consisting of four models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. On September 20th, the product line officially went on sale in several markets.

Since then, Apple's websites have been accepting online orders, and major mobile phone retailers in Vietnam have also allowed customers to place deposits and will begin receiving the iPhone 16 on September 27th.

Imported iPhone 16 models have seen price drops of tens of millions of VND.

In Vietnam, the four iPhone 16 models are sold at the following prices: iPhone 16 starts from 22,999,000 VND; iPhone 16 Plus starts from 25,999,000 VND; iPhone 16 Pro starts from 28,999,000 VND; and iPhone 16 Pro Max can cost up to 46,999,000 VND.

Instead of waiting to buy and receive the device at local stores, many people have paid tens of millions of dong more to buy imported devices.

Reportedly, some phone retailers began accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 16 Pro Max as early as 2 PM on September 20th, with prices potentially reaching up to 70 million VND. Most stores only accepted deposits for the 16 Pro Max, a few for the 16 Pro, and almost none for the iPhone 16 or 16 Plus.

The 256GB version is priced between 52-53 million VND, the 512GB version from 58 million VND, and the 1TB version costs 70 million VND, all in desert yellow. Other colors are slightly cheaper, but the difference is negligible.

According to those who import iPhones, the first iPhone 16 units to appear in Vietnam were all purchased from Singapore, Thailand, or Taiwan.

However, after only a few days, the price of the iPhone 16 cooled down rapidly, with many people posting them for sale at a markup of a few million dong compared to the listed price: an iPhone 16 Pro Max 1TB in desert gold was advertised for only 53 million dong (26 million dong lower than the initial launch price); the 512GB version was only 46 million dong (10-12 million dong lower than the first unit that arrived in Vietnam) and only 6 million dong higher than the listed price.

Unlike previous years, Apple began accepting online orders for the iPhone 16 series starting at midnight on September 20th, and the devices will arrive in just one week instead of a month. This has led to a decrease in demand for imported goods, causing their prices to drop rapidly.
