Numerous sources have revealed that the iPhone 17 Plus will be discontinued and replaced by the highly anticipated iPhone 17 Air.
A report from The Information suggests that Apple will release an ultra-thin iPhone model called the iPhone 17 Air in 2025 to replace the iPhone 17 Plus, featuring a 6.6-inch screen upgraded to ProMotion technology and a 120Hz refresh rate (twice that of the iPhone 16 Plus), providing a better gaming and movie-watching experience.

Sources indicate that the iPhone 17 Air may be equipped with a TDDI OLED display to deliver the thinnest design ever. TDDI (Touch and Display Driver Integration) OLED displays are reportedly a new technology launched by the Taiwanese company Novatek. TDDI technology combines touch sensors and drivers into a single layer, creating an ultra-thin panel. This solution reduces smartphone thickness by several millimeters.
Besides information about its thickness, the iPhone 17 Air is also predicted to have a smaller Dynamic Island, 12GB of RAM, a 24MP front camera, and possibly even an under-display Face ID sensor...
The iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be very expensive, positioned similarly to the Ultra series on the Apple Watch, costing up to $1,299 (according to the Ice Universe account), and leaker Jeff Pu also provided similar information, stating that the iPhone 17 Air is Apple's most expensive smartphone.
