Iran released a video of its underground missile depot, dubbed a 'missile city' due to its diverse array of advanced weapons, in response to threats targeting its nuclear facilities.
In a video posted by Iran's Tasnim news agency on March 25, Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri and Commander of the Aerospace Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Amir Ali Hajizadeh stand on a military all-terrain vehicle, traveling along a tunnel. On either side, a series of missiles and rockets are stacked on racks or mounted on truck-mounted launchers.

Among these weapons are the Kheybar Shekan, Ghadr-H, Sejjil, and Haj Qassem medium-range ballistic missiles, and the Paveh ground-attack cruise missile. Some of these were used by Iran in a large-scale attack on Israeli territory in October 2024.
According to Tasnim, the aforementioned underground base is "one of hundreds of missile cities" operated by the IRGC, but the specific location of the facility was not disclosed.
However, Iran's missile cities have several weaknesses. According to the military website The War Zone, these weapons are located in exposed, long tunnels with little or no blast-proof doors or barriers. This could lead to catastrophic consequences if the facility is attacked, causing a massive secondary chain of explosions.
Meanwhile, other Iranian underground weapons bases, particularly those capable of launching missiles through openings in their roofs, appear to have some degree of such preventative measures in place.

The footage was released amid US President Donald Trump's renewed "maximum pressure" campaign against Iran. In a letter to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on March 7, President Trump warned of potential military action if Iran refused to engage in negotiations.
In response, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said on March 24 that Iran would not participate in nuclear talks unless the US changed its policy of maximum pressure on Iran. Iran insists it is not developing nuclear weapons, but officials have previously said Tehran would consider building such weapons in the event of an Israeli attack on its nuclear facilities.
