However, Iran stressed that it was too early to say whether a peace agreement was ready to be signed.
According to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei, the current focus of negotiations with the US is ending the conflict, while the nuclear issue has not been discussed in detail. Meanwhile, Tasnim news agency, which is closely linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported that the US still opposes some provisions in the draft agreement, including the release of frozen Iranian assets.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati arrived in Doha, Qatar, on the evening of May 25th. They discussed sticking points related to a potential agreement to end the nearly three-month-long conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran.

The US and Iran have observed a ceasefire that took effect on April 8, while mediators have been pushing for a reconciliation. However, Iran continues its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, cutting off most shipping traffic, while the US maintains its maritime blockade of Iranian ports.
According to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei, Iran and the United States have reached conclusions on most topics of discussion, but cautioned that this does not mean a deal is imminent. Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, Baghaei stressed that at this stage, Iran and the US are not discussing the nuclear issue and the focus of negotiations is ending the conflict that began on February 28th.
However, Iranian officials reiterated that there is no guarantee that the U.S. will honor its commitments in any potential agreement, saying that Tehran is not concerned with threats.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington would either reach a strong agreement with Iran or confront it in another way.
On May 24, President Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social that the US lockdown order would "remain in full effect until an agreement is reached, certified, and signed."
"Both sides need to take the time and do it right," President Trump added.
