Israel is about to launch a direct flight to Hanoi.

(Chinhphu.vn) - This information was provided by Mr. Shlomi Zafrany, Commercial Director of El Al Airlines, at a meeting between the Trade Office and the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel and the leadership of El Al Airlines on May 12 in Tel Aviv.

According to Mr. Shlomi Zafrany, El Al Airlines is planning to launch a direct flight from Israel to Hanoi (Vietnam) and requested the Trade Office and the Embassy to support the airline in smoothly implementing this plan.

Accordingly, the first flight is scheduled to launch on October 24, 2026, from Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv to Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi.

Initially, according to the pilot winter flight schedule from October 24, 2026 to March 25, 2027, El Al Airlines will maintain a frequency of 3 flights per week, using wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. As passenger numbers increase, the number of flights may be increased.

The outbound flight departs from Tel Aviv, with an estimated flight time of 9 hours and 35 minutes. Flight number LY097 departs at 23:50 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays and arrives in Hanoi at 13:25 local time the following day.

The return flight from Hanoi has an estimated flight time of 11 hours and 10 minutes. Flight number LY098 departs at 4 PM on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and arrives in Tel Aviv at 10:10 PM the same day.

With the above plan, El Al Airlines requested the Trade Office of the Embassy to maintain regular contact to continue supporting the airline in expanding cooperation with the Vietnamese market in the future.

In response to the Israeli proposal, Mr. Le Thai Hoa, Commercial Counselor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel, welcomed El Al Airlines' plan to launch direct flights to Vietnam with a specific flight schedule.

At the same time, he stated that he is always ready to actively support and connect El Al Airlines with suitable Vietnamese partners so that all parties can seek mutually beneficial business cooperation opportunities.

At the request of El Al Airlines, the Trade Office of the Embassy provided guidance on procedures related to obtaining flight permits and visas for flight crew members, including pilots and cabin crew, so that the airline could comply with and implement them with the competent authorities in Vietnam, as well as coordinate with the airline's partner in Vietnam to carry out the process.

In addition, representatives from the Trade Office and the Embassy also discussed issues of interest to El Al Airlines, expressing their readiness to support El Al Airlines in implementing its plan to organize direct flights to Vietnam.
