“They destroyed our house, we thought we would be safe,” an unidentified woman at a hospital told Reuters.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said early Tuesday that the Israeli Air Force was “in the process of preparing the battlefield” by focusing on attacking “terrorist targets” in Jabalya.
“During the battle, the division attacked three tunnel routes in the Jabalya area, where terrorists were hiding.”
A resident of Sheikh Radwan district, Yasser Abu Watfa, told CNN the situation in Jabalya is “very scary,” but many people living there have not yet evacuated.
Doctors at the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza continue to work despite shortages of fuel, electricity, water and food, and being surrounded by Israeli tanks.
Journalist Anas Al-Sharif, who was present at the hospital, said: “The situation here is extremely difficult and dangerous, tanks and military vehicles of the occupying forces as well as the occupying soldiers are holding positions around the Indonesian Hospital, and the civilians inside the hospital are in panic and fear.”
“Many bodies are piled up inside the hospital and there is a smell of death everywhere.”

Air strikes continued into Tuesday morning. Israel ordered Palestinians to evacuate northern Gaza as it continued to attack Hamas infrastructure and troops.
The Palestinian Red Crescent on X said four doctors were killed in Israeli shelling of Al-Awda hospital in the Jabalya area. Journalist Issam Badr said the hospital was evacuated and the injured were taken to Kamal Edwan hospital.
Ashraf Al-Qudra, spokesman for the Gaza Health Ministry , said the health sector in northern Gaza had “completely collapsed”.
“Hospitals in northern Gaza have completely stopped functioning, and we can no longer provide medical services in the north.”
