Nicolas Jackson was the center of attention after scoring a brace, helping the "Teranga Lions" quickly establish themselves as title contenders and take the top spot in Group D.
Entering the opening match, Senegal quickly imposed their dominance with a fast-paced and powerful attacking style. However, Botswana proved to be a tough opponent. In the second half, the one-sided game continued. In the 58th minute, Jackson once again made his mark, capitalizing on an assist from Ismaila Sarr, unleashing a powerful diagonal shot to complete his brace and double Senegal's lead.
The remaining minutes saw continuous pressure from the West African team. In the 90th minute, substitute Cherif Ndiaye sealed the goalfest with a close-range tap-in, making the final score 3-0.
With a perfect start, Senegal sent a strong message to all their opponents at the 2025 CAN Cup.
