On March 28th, a conference to launch the program for tourism development cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region in 2025, themed "Enhancing Connectivity - Sustainable Development," took place in Soc Trang province.
According to Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism , in 2024, the tourism development cooperation program achieved many important results, including the announcement of 55 river tourism routes from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta provinces; over 2.7 million tourists from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta provinces; and the selection and announcement of 50 attractive tourist destinations in Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta…

In 2025, several programs will be implemented, including the announcement of the "Project for the Development of Linked Tourism Products between Ho Chi Minh City and 13 Provinces and Cities in the Mekong Delta"; the development of heritage tourism programs linked to the historical values of the border regions of Long An , Dong Thap, An Giang, and Kien Giang provinces; the promotion of tourism in Ho Chi Minh City and the 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta in the central provinces; and the promotion of tourist destinations on Ho Chi Minh City's 3D smart map application platform.
At the conference, the organizing committee launched an action program on the development of green and sustainable tourism in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta with the theme "Sustainable Tourism and the Net Zero Goal"; and signed a cooperation agreement between travel businesses from provinces and cities in linking with tourism service providers in Soc Trang.
