As of this afternoon, Thuong Song Tri reservoir is discharging at a rate of 50 m³ /second, Kim Son reservoir at 20 m³ /second, Boc Nguyen reservoir at 20 m³ /second, and Tau Voi reservoir at 5.5 m³ /second.
The Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control, and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development have issued official dispatches and documents focusing on responding to the rain and flood situation and ensuring the safety of irrigation works in the province.
The overflow bridge in Ky Son commune is submerged, causing localized disruption.
Heavy rains have caused damage in several localities, including Cam Xuyen district, Ky Anh district, and Ky Anh town.
According to Mr. Le Ngoc Ha, Vice Chairman of the Cam Xuyen District People's Committee: Heavy rains caused a landslide along the Ngan Mo River, specifically the section passing through Phuong Tru village, Cam Due commune, with a length of 10 meters and a depth of 5-7 meters.
The landslide caused the fence to collapse and damaged the livestock facilities of Mr. Cao Nam Tinh's family. Immediately after the incident, the local authorities mobilized manpower and machinery to carry out remedial work.
Meanwhile, in Ky Anh district, heavy rain caused flooding on 7 bridges and 5 culverts in the communes of Ky Lac, Ky Thuong, Ky Trung, Ky Tay, and Ky Son, resulting in localized disruptions. Local authorities quickly erected barriers and warning signs prohibiting people from crossing.
Provincial Road 551 (DT.551), the section bordering Ky Trung and Ky Phong communes, experienced a landslide on the embankment, causing large amounts of soil and rocks to spill onto the road and block traffic. Local authorities subsequently mobilized machinery to clear the debris, and the road is now open to traffic.
Machinery is being used to clear the debris, allowing provincial road 551 to reopen.
In Ky Anh town, heavy rain also caused localized flooding on some roads, including National Highway 1 section passing through Thuy Son Lake, Hung Tri ward; at the same time, it flooded some underpasses and roads.
Local authorities have also erected barriers and checkpoints at flooded areas to warn residents and ensure their safety.
