On the afternoon of September 4, 2025, the Radio Frequency Department ( Ministry of Science and Technology ) officially launched the iSpectra Mobile Information Interference Detection and Monitoring System.

Solving the Mobile Interference Challenge

In recent years, the explosion of 4G and 5G networks and rapid urbanization have increased interference at base stations, directly affecting service quality. Determining the cause and handling interference previously took a lot of time and resources from both network operators and management agencies.

To overcome this, the Radio Frequency Department will coordinate with telecommunications enterprises to deploy the iSpectra system in the period 2023-2025. The system turns BTS stations into monitoring "sensors", allowing real-time data collection, rapid detection - warning - zoning and handling of interference sources.

This is an important step from manual management to digital data-based management, significantly reducing processing time, while creating a platform for future artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning applications to predict, classify and locate noise sources.

Director of the Radio Frequency Department, Mr. Le Van Tuan congratulated individuals with outstanding contributions in building iSpectra.

Initial effectiveness , towards modern management

According to statistics, since the trial operation in April 2025, iSpectra has helped detect 70 noise sources, an increase of 65% compared to the same period in 2024. Accuracy reached 76% (higher than the previous 65%), while noise processing time was halved, equivalent to saving about 1,080 working hours per year.

Mr. Nguyen Dat, Deputy General Director of Viettel spoke at the ceremony.

Mr. Nguyen Dat, Deputy General Director of the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel), commented that putting iSpectra into operation not only ensures the quality of mobile network services for more than 100 million people, but is also an important step in the digital transformation process of national frequency management.

VNPT representative also assessed that iSpectra is a powerful support tool, helping telecommunications businesses handle incidents faster, thereby improving user experience and ensuring network stability in the context of increasing demand for mobile data.

In the next phase, the system will be further developed with AI integration features to automatically localize interference sources, expand monitoring for 5G networks, and build a comprehensive digital frequency management platform from registration, licensing, monitoring to international frequency coordination.

Mr. Le Van Tuan, Director of the Department of Radio Frequency, spoke at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Tuan, Director of the Radio Frequency Department, emphasized that the launch of the iSpectra system is an important milestone, demonstrating the determination to innovate management methods based on modern technology. "We will continue to coordinate with businesses to expand and perfect the system, serving the goal of developing national digital infrastructure and meeting the increasing connection needs of the people."

With initial results, iSpectra is expected to become a key tool in spectrum management in Vietnam, contributing to ensuring the quality of telecommunications services, while affirming the pioneering role of science and technology in the process of national digital transformation.
