Hue tourism breaks through: Domestic visitors increase by nearly 83%, international visitors increase by more than 39%

According to the Hue City Department of Tourism, in the first 8 months of 2025, the number of tourists to Hue is estimated at more than 4.6 million, an increase of 68% over the same period last year.

Of which, international visitors are estimated at nearly 1.3 million, up more than 39% over the same period last year; domestic visitors are estimated at more than 3.3 million, up nearly 83% over the same period last year.

The number of visitors staying also had positive changes, estimated at more than 1.7 million, up 24.5% over the same period last year, of which international visitors staying were estimated at more than 483,000, up 9% over the same period last year. Tourism revenue was estimated at more than VND 8,740 billion, up more than 57% over the same period last year.

In August alone, the number of visitors to Hue is estimated at nearly 594,300, an increase of more than 50% over the same period last year; of which international visitors are estimated at more than 83,880, an increase of 25.5% over the same period last year; domestic visitors are estimated at nearly 510,400, an increase of more than 55% over the same period last year.

France is currently leading the international tourist market to Hue with nearly 64,200 arrivals in 8 months, accounting for 13.5% of the market share of international visitors to Hue. Next is the US with nearly 45,200 arrivals, accounting for 9.5% of the market share; the UK with more than 36,200 arrivals, accounting for 7.6% of the market share.

Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Tram, Director of Hue City Department of Tourism, said that on the occasion of September 2 this year, the total number of tourists to Hue City is estimated at 196,000, an increase of 50.8% over the same period in 2024, revenue from tourism services is estimated at 310 billion VND, an increase of 134.8%. The number of guests staying is estimated at 92,000, an increase of 41.5%, including about 23,000 international guests, an increase of 43.8%. The average room occupancy rate of hotels is about 72% (on August 31, September 1 and 2, the room occupancy rate of many accommodation establishments reached more than 85%).
