Finding “raw materials” for Dong Nai’s new tourism products

With Dong Nai's available tourism resources, the provincial tourism industry is surveying and finding "raw materials" to build new tourism products to promote, introduce, and stimulate tourism, expected to launch at the end of 2025.

The new planned tourism products will connect attractions, bringing experiences to visitors through stories about nature, cultural values, and the vibrant history of Dong Nai. In particular, when Long Thanh International Airport comes into operation, these will be new tourism products to welcome domestic and international tourists.

Journey to the border

Dong Nai province has 258.939km of border with the Kingdom of Cambodia, spread across 8 communes: Bu Gia Map, Dak O, Hung Phuoc, Thien Hung, Tan Tien, Loc Tan, Loc Thanh and Loc Thanh; there are over 34,800 households with more than 135,000 people living there. The border area of ​​Dong Nai province has 4 border gates and 1 opening, of which Hoa Lu Border Gate is an international border gate, with an important position in the Southeast region.

Bu Gia Map National Park (VQG) in Bu Gia Map commune (Dong Nai province) has long been not only a destination to experience the nature and culture of local ethnic minorities, but also a destination to visit landmarks and listen to stories of border protection by border guards in the deep forest.

Mr. Do Truong Giang, Deputy Director of the Center for Tourism Propaganda and Conservation Rescue, Bu Gia Map National Park said: Tourists coming to Bu Gia Map National Park really like the forest exploration tour, checking in at the border marker with the flag-raising ceremony at the marker, which is very meaningful, contributing to increasing the value of the tours, not only experiencing nature but also raising the awareness and responsibility of Vietnamese citizens in preserving and protecting the border area.

In addition to the destination of Bu Gia Map National Park, destinations such as: Special National Relic Site of the Southern Vietnam Liberation Army Command Base (Ta Thiet Base, in Loc Thanh Commune, Dong Nai Province); Diplomatic House in Loc Ninh Commune, Dong Nai Province; destinations along National Highway 13... will also bring visitors interesting experiences, stories about patriotism, solidarity as well as the tradition of revolutionary struggle and national defense of the Vietnamese army and people.

Building new tourism products for Dong Nai

According to the 2025 tourism development plan of the Provincial People's Committee, the theme of Dong Nai tourism development in 2025 is "Dong Nai tourism takes off with aviation". With this goal, Dong Nai tourism industry is focusing on promoting the progress of tourism projects; at the same time, building new tourism products to promptly promote and connect with travel businesses inside and outside the province on the occasion of Long Thanh International Airport coming into operation.

This is also the goal of concretizing the plan of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU dated December 30, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on developing tourism into an important economic sector and the province's plans; resolutions and directives of the Government on key tasks and solutions, accelerating recovery, accelerating effective and sustainable tourism development.

In the first 8 months of 2025, the number of tourists to Dong Nai reached over 5 million, of which domestic tourists were over 4.9 million and international tourists were over 109 thousand. Revenue from tourism services reached over 3.2 trillion VND.

According to the assessment of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in recent times, tourism management, including destinations, travel activities and tour guides in the province, has been ensured. Up to now, Dong Nai has 69 travel service businesses including domestic and international tourism businesses and representative offices in Dong Nai. In addition, the whole province currently has 224 accommodation establishments with a total of more than 5.2 thousand rooms, of which 40 establishments are ranked from 1 to 5 stars.

Dong Nai currently has nearly 30 tourist areas and spots, many of which are famous and attract domestic and foreign tourists such as: Cat Tien National Park, Bu Gia Map National Park, Suoi Mo Cultural Park; tourist areas: Ba Giot Waterfall, Buu Long, Son Tien, Bo Cap Vang, Qua Dieu Vang, My Le Park...

With the above available potentials, recently the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Dong Nai province has conducted a survey of destinations, searching for new "materials" to build new tourism products, stimulating tourism demand for Dong Nai.

Sharing about the plan to build new tourism products, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Province Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center Tran Thi Thu Trang said: Based on available resources, the center will search and connect with cashew nut production facilities, which is known as the "capital" of cashew in Vietnam to exploit tourism. New tours to explore Dong Nai will bring many interesting experiences to tourists. These will be tours connecting from Long Thanh International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City and many provinces and cities across the country, helping tourists have new perspectives and interesting feelings about a new Dong Nai with rich potential.
